Mourinho’s words on Lindelof speculation cannot be taken seriously
Jose Mourinho has finally responded to rumours regarding the transfer of a new centre-back this summer.
The Manchester United manager is expected to address his squad’s weaknesses in various positions by bringing in a number of new additions.
And for several months now, Victor Lindelof has been deemed as Mourinho’s main target in his search for a new centre-back.
Reports recently suggested that the 23-year-old was preparing for an imminent $45.1 million (€40 million) move to Old Trafford.
However, Mouriho played down those rumours – for now – when asked about the potential deal.
“I will not say if I want him or not, I think it’s incorrect.” the United boss said
“Rui [Vitória, Benfica manager] is not going to be happy with another club manager talking about a player who is his, the president would not be happy to see that.
“Lindelof is theirs and as long as he’s theirs, he’s theirs.”http://www.fanchesterunited.com/2017/06/mourinho-finally-speaks-on-reports-of-45-1-million-new-acquisition/
