Mourinho confirms reason why United star was excluded from squad
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed made him leave out key midfielder Paul Pogba from the team on Saturday.
The France international has faced his critics this season but he remains a very important part of the Manchester United set up.
Along with erratic form, what proved to be troubling for Pogba has been various injuries over the course of the season.
The 24-year-old was not named in the starting eleven for the match against Liverpool on Saturday, to the surprise of many.
And Mourinho has confirmed that Pogba’s absence on Saturday was due to an injury he suffered in training ahead of the match.
“He’s injured. Yesterday in training. He was in an unlucky situation.” said the Manchester United manager
“I don’t know how long he is out for.”
In the absence of Pogba, the Red Devils looked impressive anyway against Liverpool side which had been in stunning form ahead of this weekend.
Two goals from Marcus Rashford secured a 2-1 victory for United as they continue to maintain their stay in second position in the Premier League table.http://www.fanchesterunited.com/2018/03/mourinho-confirms-reason-why-united-star-was-excluded-from-squad/
