Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly has expressed his admiration for one of the stars whom the club signed during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 as the first player Jose Mourinho recruited after replacing Louis van Gaal as manager of the Red Devils.

A year later, Bailly has teamed up with one of the Premier League’s best strikers at the moment in Romelu Lukaku, who moved to the club from Everton in a record-breaking deal.

And according to the United defender, Lukaku, who is United’s leading scorer so far this season, is certainly a teammate he is grateful to have around.

“Romelu is a great striker. I have played against him but now I’m lucky to play with him.” the Ivorian international said

“He is very important for us and everybody [can] see how everything’s going up for him. I hope he can keep scoring goals and helping us out.”
