As per reports, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has agreed to sign a new five-year deal at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid after previously featuring for their fierce local rivals Atletico Madrid.

De Gea did come extremely close to joining the La Liga giants in 2015, only for an administrative error on deadline day to damage the transfer move as he went to sign a new deal a few months later.

Madrid, who are reportedly willing to offer $132.7m for the goalkeeper, were expected to be back in pursuit for him once again this summer.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, De Gea is now set to end speculation over a potential switch to Madrid by committing his future to the Red Devils.

The goalkeeper is currently on international duty with Spain at the 2018 FIFA World Cup saw him make a rare as La Roja were held to a draw by Portugal on Friday.
