Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has picked out the decision which he believes cost Jose Mourinho and his side a vital victory away to Leicester City.

The Red Devils were somehow held to a 2-2 draw at the King Power stadium, despite leading 2-1 for much of the second half and Leicester having a man sent off.

Instead of seeing out the game with ten men, Jose Mourinho decided to reintroduce a clearly injured Chris Smalling who could do little to help avoid the equalizer from Harry Maguire.

For Neville, the United manager should not have allowed a player struggling with injury to be in such an important defensive role.

“You can’t believe it, he cannot believe it. And I have to say, have I just seen what I have just seen?” Neville said

“It’s an unbelievable cross from Albrighton.

“But Chris Smalling has just come back onto the pitch into a central defensive position, I cannot believe he’s gone back on in there into a position to pick up the best header of the ball at the back post.

“You see him limping there at the back post with Ashley Young, and it’s incredible. He had a chance in the first half Maguire, it’s an unbelievable finish to this match.

“The quality is wonderful from Albrighton, the finish is fantastic.

“You have to question whether De Gea should be out there, it’s three yards out from goal. But take nothing away from Leicester, a wonderful moment for those fans.”
