‘He needs to go’, ‘Sell him’ – Some United fans want this player gone after Derby loss
Some Manchester United fans hurled insults at Phil Jones as the team bowed out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night after a defeat to Derby County in a penalty shootout.
Jose Mourinho has been put under a lot of pressure already so far this season, after an underwhelming summer transfer window where the club refused to spend money on some of the targets whom the former Chelsea boss picked out.
The 1-1 draw to Wolves last Saturday added more unnecessary pressure ahead of the meeting with Derby County on Tuesday.
Phil Jones was of course the player who missed his spot kick as Derby eliminated Manchester United from the cup.
The Englishman has not always been given compliments about his style of defending and after conceding two goals, the defender received more criticism from the fans.
There are even fans who are calling for Jones to be ditched by the club.
Phil Jones demonstrating right there why he should be playing for Newcastle United, instead of Manchester United. Brain dead. No awareness. Sick of the sight of him.

Phil Jones has been awful ever since we’ve signed him! Surely after that we have got to finally sell him.

It's bad that this kind of stuff is no longer surprising! It's hard to take and I'll still moan and shout at the telly but I'll still stand behind them! Always have, always will! In all seriousness though, please sell Phil Jones! He's awful and shouldn't be here! @ManUtd
