Manchester United fans on social media did not have too many kind words for Romelu Lukaku after watching the striker play in the League Cup defeat at Old Trafford to Derby County.

The Red Devils have already been dealing with criticism after failing to pick up all of the three points over the weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Wolves.

With the team not getting the right results, a good amount of the blame has been directed towards Romelu Lukaku, who is into his second season at the club after moving from Everton in the summer of 2017.

The Belgium international, who did score in United’s recent away wins, is currently enduring a rough spell and that continued on Tuesday night as he missed a couple of chances to score.

United fans who watched the Red Devils lose to Frank Lampard’s side on penalties could not help but voice their frustration.
