‘He was absolute garbage’: Group of fans react to United defender’s show at Brighton
Manchester United fans let out their feelings over the performance of Eric Bailly and the overall partnership at centre-back after the loss to Brighton on Sunday.
There were warning signs for the Red Devils just over a week ago when they began the new season with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City which was not exactly an emphatic result.
Going into the trip to Brighton where we lost last season, many fans had a valid reason to feel a little nervous and in the end, they were proven right.
An abysmal first half meant United were in trouble of losing their first game of the season already and even though the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba scored, the result did not go our way in the end.
After his injuries last season, Eric Bailly was back in the team as he was partnered up with Victor Lindelof at the back but his performance did not please many fans on Twitter.
Would it be in order for me to be critical of Eric Bailly after today's performance? I thought the lad was absolute garbage. The other chap Lindelof wasn't much better either. It's a bit of a worry.

My take on Bailly is that he has top quality attributes but is a madman. He’s the best CB we’ve got but he needs an experienced partner to guide him. He’s not a top CB yet. He’s like a Vidic without a Rio.

How poor are Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly ? can see why Jose Mourinho was desperate for a new centre half.

You can really tell Lindelof and Bailly have hardly played together as a pair. Look so wobbly and not working together at all. This game has severely underlined why United needed a proper CB this summer.

http://www.fanchesterunited.com/he-was-absolute-garbage-group-of-fans-react-to-united-defenders-show-at-brighton/Mourinho spent £40m on Lindelof and £25m on Bailly but they’re not good enough and United haven’t backed him in the transfer market.
