Manchester United have not made too many new signings in the January transfer window but quality is obviously far more important than quantity.

The past week had been all about speculation concerning a possible deal for Alexis Sanchez to move to Old Trafford.

After all the gossip, the 29-year-old finally completed his move to United on Monday in a transfer deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan end his misery at the club by heading to London.

Sanchez is now a Red Devil, much to the excitement of most fans, and the forward has uttered his first words after the big move, which is believed to be worth around $490,000-a-week or £350,000-a-week in wages.

The former Barcelona star has revealed that he opted to join United because it has always been his childhood dream to play at the theatre of dreams.

“Since I was a boy I’ve always said my dream was to play for Manchester United,” said Sanchez

“I’m not saying that because I’m here now… I always said as a kid that I’d like to play for United, and I once spoke to Sir Alex Ferguson about it.

“We chatted for around twenty minutes. And I told him that it was my dream to come here to United.”
