Mourinho in good position to agree deal to sign 24-year-old, $54m fee claimed
Speculation has frequently linked Manchester United with a deal for Inter Milan star Joao Mario and the latest rumours are suggesting the move could happen.
Earlier this week, reports were claiming that the Red Devils were preparing an offer to secure the services of the highly-rated Portuguese international.
And based on new reports by Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan are now willing to offer Mario to Manchester United in exchange of Armenian attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.
Reports from the Italian outlet a few weeks ago claimed that a similar deal would happen but the Red Devils were to pay a fee of around $54 million (€45 million) if Mkhitaryan is not part of the deal.
A move for Mario would certainly add more options to the Red Devils attacking department and it remains to be seen whether a deal will be completed.
United managed to return to winnings ways on Monday as they defeated Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park to move back into second place in the Premier League.
