Jose Mourinho has picked out what he was not happy with on Tuesday night even though Manchester United managed to defeat Basel 3-0 in the Champions League.

The Red Devils marked their return to Europe’s elite club competition with a comprehensive victory over the side from Switzerland at home.

Goals from the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford secured a 3-0 win as United returned to winning ways after Saturday’s disappointing 2-2 draw at Stoke City.

Tuesday’s result at Old Trafford certainly delighted many but Jose Mourinho was not satisfied with how his side managed the game after doubling their lead.

“Three points are important at home. Until 2-0 we were very stable, we played with confidence.” the United manager said

“After 2-0 everything changed, we stopped playing seriously and stopped making right decisions. We could have put ourselves in trouble.

“We were playing fantasy football, Playstation football. I don’t like it, flicks and tricks. We gambled and you have to respect your opponent.

“I don’t know if goal difference will play a part. We lost position, our shape, we lost balls in easy situations.

“I didn’t like it, the players relaxed too much.”
