Manchester United appear to eager to address the current issue regarding a lack of proper options at left-back which has seen Ashley Young play there.

Jose Mourinho has unfortunately watched his side fall 11 points behind Manchester City in what is becoming a one-horse race for the Premier League title.

And with the future of Luke Shaw seemingly uncertain heading into January, Mourinho is likely to be targeting a full-back who could replace the Englishman.

On that subject, the Mirror are claiming that United have been given the green light to complete a big-money move for Juventus star Alex Sandro.

The Italian side turned down offers for the 26-year-old during the summer but they are now reportedly willing to make a profit from the sale of the defender.

Thus, United are believed to be preparing an offer of $80.3 million (£60 million) for Sandro who was previously linked with a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
