Jose Mourinho’s men have been handed a massive injury boost ahead of this weekend’s Premier League showdown with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils succumbed to their first defeat in the league this season as quick-fire goals from Huddersfield in the first half saw the newly promoted side secure a surprise 2-1 win last Saturday.

However, United did manage to bounce back from that loss by beating Swansea City 2-0 away from home on Tuesday to book a place in the quarter-final of the League Cup.

And ahead of the clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Moruinho has been boosted by the news that Harry Kane will be sidelined by an injury.

The 24-year-old has maintained his talisman status for the north London side this season, scoring two goals in last Sunday’s 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool.

“The doctor and medical staff made the decision to not take the risk,” Mauricio Pochettino said

“There is no sense in taking that risk and making the problem bigger.”

Kane’s absence could very decisive this weekend as the Red Devils look to shrug off another title rival while keeping up with league leaders Manchester City.
