It is no longer a secret that Jose Mourinho is willing to offload Luke Shaw either in January or during next summer, but it remains to be seen whom the left-back’s replacement will be.

The Manchester United manager is currently without a natural left-back in his strongest starting eleven with Ashley Young having to claim that role for much of this season.

Mourinho is aware that he would probably have to ditch Luke Shaw in order to afford the signing of a player who will take his place in the squad.

Thus, the Guardian are reporting that United are preparing an offer for the services of highly promising Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon.

The 17-year-old is being chased by several big clubs after his spectacular performances for the Cottagers in the second division so far this season.

Indeed, Sessegnon is such an attacking-minded full-back that he finished the European Under-19 Championship in June as joint top scorer after managing to score three goals in the tournament.

Tottenham are also targeting the young defender but United are reportedly willing to offer as much $33.4 million (£25 million) to Fulham for his signature.
