Despite claims by his agent that he is leaving Old Trafford, Manchester United have made a firm decision that Anthony Martial will not be sold this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Martial has struggled with life on and off the pitch over the last two seasons under the management of Jose Mourinho who took over from Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2016.

The arrival of Alexis Sanchez during the January transfer window has pushed the French striker further down the pecking order, causing him to miss out on a place in the France World Cup squad which has travelled to Russia.

Even with Martial’s agent claiming that the player wants to leave, Mourinho and the Red Devils have reiterated that they wish to keep him at the club for next season.

The 22-year-old cost United $47.8 million (£36 million) in his move to Old Trafford from AS Monaco in 2015 and the Red Devils are likely to demand a high price for the striker.
