Manchester United have been handed what could be a decisive injury boost ahead of their upcoming clash with CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

The Red Devils are preparing for their second fixture of the group stage campaign after thrashing Basel 3-0 at home in the opening game a couple of weeks ago.

Jose Mourinho’s side are heading into the trip to Russia on the back of another positive result as they defeated Southampton 1-0 on the road over the weekend.

And to make matters even better, CSKA will now be without one of their key players Mario Fernandes for the match on Wednesday night.

The right-back is a vital part of the Russian team and his absence could see United’s left-winger on the day enjoy more freedom to threaten the opposition.

Fernandes’ injury news was broken by journalist Artur Petrosyan as the Red Devils wrap up their preparations for the tricky trip.
