Spain manager Vicente del Bosque does not appear to be in full support of Alvaro Morata’s expected transfer move to Manchester United.

The 24-year-old only returned to Real Madrid last year following a couple of seasons at Juventus but the Spaniard has not been able to cement a place in Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven.

As a result, Morata appears to be closing in on a move to Old Trafford with reports suggesting that he is set to fly over to England in the coming days.

However, his national team boss Del Bosque insists it would be a ‘shame’ to see the striker end his stay in Spain.

“What is good for him is mainly that he plays but I think he is doing very well at Real Madrid,” he said

“It is a shame if he leaves.

“But I have always said that it is an enrichment factor for our football that our players have been able to go abroad and have been able to play. It will not be a problem for the Spanish team.”

One of the reasons behind Morata’s move to United is to help his chances of securing a regular spot in Spain’s line-up at next year’s FIFA World Cup.
