Jose Mourinho has confirmed there was yet another injury blow to add to Chris Smalling’s after Saturday’s frustrating draw away to Leicester City.

The Red Devils were looking to maintain their pursuit of league leaders Manchester City against the Foxes as they made a tricky trip to the King Power stadium.

Unfortunately though, they are now a massive 13 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side after dropping two more points in a game which many felt they should have won with ease.

Harry Maguire’s late equalizer for Leicester City came through the help of Chris Smalling’s injury and Mourinho has confirmed Matteo Darmian is another man who has picked up a problem from the clash with the Foxes.

“Darmian is also injured.” the United manager said after the 2-2 draw at the King Power stadium

“We don’t have too many more options [at right-back] and Victor has experience to play in the position even at highest level, in the last Euros he was there for Sweden, so it’s not a new position for him,”

Manchester United are set to face Burnley at Old Trafford on Boxing Day and with the title race appearing to head in one direction at the moment, a victory will be simply imperative.
