Mourinho gives hint in interview that transfer will be agreed for 28-year-old attacker
Jose Mourinho has clearly hinted that he is open to making profit on the sale of players who are no longer receiving much game time at the moment.
United are set to welcome Stoke City at Old Trafford on Monday after watching Manchester City hand them a slender opportunity to come back into the title race through the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Even though Mourinho has been rumoured to be making efforts to secure new signings, there are players like Henrikh Mkytaryn whom speculation has suggested he could sell.
And in his latest interview, the Manchester United boss admitted that “every player has a price” when asked about the possibility of the 28-year-old being allowed to leave the club.
“My approach to players is that every player has a price.” said the Red Devils boss
“It doesn’t matter who he is. It doesn’t matter the level. It doesn’t matter the prestige, the status. I think every player has a price.
“And I am not the kind of blind manager…blind in the sense of, this player is untouchable, can never be sold. I think every player has a price.
“It’s up to us to decide what we think is the right price. But Mkhitaryan played the last match in the FA Cup and probably will play the next one [against Stoke]. He’s a little bit the same in relation to other players that are involved in this gossip of the transfer market.
“He is our player and a very good player. So Saturday [he is] training, then Sunday [he is] selected and Monday [he will] play.”
