Jose Mourinho has provided an update on his injured skipper following the 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils have been handed their fair share of injury blows this season as they look to find a way back into the title race after falling 11 points behind Manchester City.

On Sunday, Antonio Valencia was withdrawn from the game after only 66 minutes of action due to what appeared to a hamstring problem.

The injury to the Ecuador international is certainly a major set-back for United and Mourinho suggested after the game that it was probably due to fatigue.

“This is what I call a December injury. It is an injury of accumulation of fatigue. It is a muscular one. Hamstring. Big, small, medium, I don’t know.” the Manchester United manager said

“Let’s wait. I think he is an experienced guy to not let it go to difficult limits. But it is an injury of fatigue. Everyone in the Premier League especially the ones in more accumulation of cups, European cups, they are at risk.”
