Jose Mourinho has sent out a strong hint that he will be looking to secure the signing of players who can improve his squad in when the transfer window resumes.

The Manchester United manager has watched his side drop out of the title race after falling a massive 15 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Thus, the Red Devils boss refused to reveal what his plans really are for next month but he has suggested that the amount of funds United have spent is still not enough to challenge major rivals.

“We are in the second year of trying to rebuild a football team that you know is not one of the best teams in the world.” the United manager said

“Manchester City buy full-backs for the price of strikers.

“[Spending £300m] is not enough. The price for the big clubs is different than for the other clubs. The big historical clubs are normally punished in the market because of that history,” he said.

“The boys are doing what they can and they are doing fine.”
