Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring in a player who will improve his attack according to rumours this week.

The Red Devils boss was able to secure the services of Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nenanja Matic during the summer transfer window.

And those deals appeared to be paying off as United initially made a near-perfect start to the 2017/18 campaign.

However, the Old Trafford side has struggled to keep up with leaders Manchester City in recent months, falling 15 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side.

As a result, a report by the Manchester Evening News is suggesting that Mourinho is eager to sign an attacking midfielder to add more creativity to his lacklustre Manchester United team.

The rumours about the Red Devils’ plans to sign a new No. 10 in the winter transfer window comes despite the encouraging recent form of Juan Mata who will soon be out of contract at the club.

United are set to play Southampton on Saturday before making a tough trip to face a rejuvenated Everton side at Goodison Park on New Year’s Day.
