Jose Mourinho has picked out four players whom he believes are an example of the sort of players he usually prefers to have at his disposal in a team.

The Manchester United manager witnessed his side maintain their push for the Premier League title with a convincing 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Following last season’s disappointing campaign in the league, most fans and pundits criticized a number of players in the Red Devils squad for lacking the quality required to return the club to its high status.

However, a brilliant start to the 2017/18 season, featuring most of those same players, has seen Mourinho heap praise on Juan Mata and company for what they bring to the table.

“I need good players, I need good people,” the United manager said

“I need some people with maturity, I need some people with the concept of team, I know that the new generations are more individual because this is the way the entourage and society makes them.

“So to have people like Mata, Herrera, Valencia, Matic, to have people like them – and I am just giving a few examples, I could give more – is very important because managers, we don’t have an easy life now.”
