Jose Mourinho has addressed rumours which suggested that he did not have Anthony Martial in his plans ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Red Devils once again won 4-0 on Saturday as they thrashed Swansea City at the Liberty stadium courtesy of a rampant final ten minutes of the second half.

And part of the scoring fest was Anthony Martial who bagged his second goal of the new season after replacing Marcus Rashford in the 75th minute.

Speculation during pre-season suggested that the France international was set to be offloaded by Mourinho as he targeted the addition of a new winger.

However, the United manager has reassured fans that Martial is very much a part of his plans for this term.

“I have faith in him.” the United manager said

“Probably, the player I was looking at [in the transfer market] was not a pure winger, because I have pure wingers.

“The player I was looking for would allow me to play three at the back and do the wing-backs. As a pure attacking player, Martial is a good player.

“He is one of the players who will have a better season than last season. I look at my players and I am sure some will be better than they were last season, and Anthony is one of those, for sure.”
