Manchester United could offer a new deal to Luke Shaw this summer after being priced out of a move for Juventus’ Alex Sandro.

The Red Devils have been looking to sign Sandro from the Serie A side this summer as Jose Mourinho remains unconvinced by Shaw and his other left-back options.

Manchester Evening News claims Manchester United could soon offer a new contract to the 22-year-old despite fears that he is not of the required standard to play at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho has been desperate to land a new left-back this summer, however, the cost of signing players like Alex Sandro and Danny Rose might not be affordable for the club.

For much of his career at Manchester United, Luke Shaw, a $92,000-a-week star, has suffered severe criticism over not just his performances but his fitness levels as well.

The young defender has been given another reality check after being left out of the England squad which traveled to Russia for the World Cup.
