Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is planning a swoop for Mateo Kovacic according to reports.

The 24-year-old Croatian admitted recently that he wants to leave Real Madrid and further his career elsewhere at a club where he would be a regular starter.

That statement from the player has attracted the attention of several top clubs and thus, Manchester United are hoping to win the battle to sign him.

Kovacic, a $98,000-a-week star, is currently at the World Cup with Croatia and he starred for the Europeans as they beat Argentina 3-0 in their second group game.

Reports via 101 Great Goals are claiming that Jose Mourinho wants to add the former Inter Milan man to his squad this summer.

With that said, the Red Devils face intense competition from Juventus and AS Roma who are also keen on taking him back to the Serie A.
