Sky Sports pundit feels these two United signings were not good
Sky Sports pundit and former Arsenal player Paul Merson has questioned the reasoning behind two of the deals Jose Mourinho completed during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have made an immaculate start to the new season, winning all of their opening three games without even conceding a single goal.
Much of that early success has been attributed to the sort of business Mourinho sanctioned before the transfer window closed on Thursday night.
However, in a review of the Red Devils’ moves in the transfer market over the summer, Paul Merson stated that he was not convinced by the deals for Victor Lindelof and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I’m not convinced by Victor Lindelof at all, but Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic are very, very good signings and that’s why I’m giving them such a high grade.” Merson said
“They are two players that they needed and they will make a massive difference to that team. They look like a completely different team with those two players in it and they could be the players to win the Premier League for them.
“I must admit I’m not convinced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming back. They are a completely different outfit this season with pace and power up front and I don’t see how he will fit in.”
