With little left to play for in the Premier League, Friday morning’s training session was all about rewarding one bright youngster.

The Red Devils are gearing up for the final match of a forgettable league campaign against relegation survivors Crystal Palace on Sunday.

It is a fixture which will serve as an opportunity for Jose Mourinho’s men to rehearse one more time for the Europa League final against Ajax.

And the clash with Palace will also be a chance for Angel Gomes to make a historic debut for the United first team.

Only days after winning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award for his exploits in the youth ranks, the 16-year-old midfielder was allowed to participate in the senior squad’s training session today.
