There may have been a lot of speculation suggesting that Marouane Fellaini will be ending his stay at Old Trafford this summer but it looks as though the club is rather eager to retain his services.

The 30-year-old’s current contract at United was set to expire soon with various reports claiming that rivals clubs have been looking to sign him.

But as per a report by the the Sun, Fellaini has actually been offered an extension to his contract and he is set to agree a new two-year deal at Old Trafford.

The Belgium international, a $105,000-a-week star, had been made available for a transfer by his agent, but he appears to have failed to land a serious suitor.

Arsenal, AC Milan and clubs from the Turkish Super Lig have been credited with interest in Fellaini but he is set to remain at United nonetheless.

The news will delight Jose Mourinho who was already plotting a move for a replacement after filling the void left by Michael Carrick with the signing Fred.
