‘Should be sold ASAP’ – Some United fans destroy one player at halftime against Arsenal

A host of Manchester United fans were left fuming over the performance of the team in the first half of Wednesday’s clash with Arsenal as Nemanja Matic was slammed on social media.

Solksjaer took his side to the Emirates stadium on the back of comfortable wins at home to Newcastle and then away to Burnley last Saturday where they won 2-0 through goals from Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

The Red Devils boss tweaked his starting line-up for the trip to Arsenal but it looks as though the midfield is where some fans believe the problem remained as the Gunners’ dominated the middle of the park in the first half.

Matic kept his place in the team after a composed display at Turf Moore, but things were not so comfortable for him in the early stages of the clash with Arsenal, who managed to score twice before the halftime break.

Matic, as a result, was criticized by several United fans.

Matic should be sold ASAP. He offers nothing going forward. How Lingard gets game time in this team is beyond me. A dead Mata better than him. No ball passer in the middle of the park. If I were woodward I’ll break the bank to sign Eriksen or Madison in the summer

Watch Matic play. He's taking up very strange positions, almost ghosting this game. He's lost possession 7 times, not made a single successful tackle and has 75% passing accuracy.

Not having McTominay in this game is a HUGE miss.

United is being let down by Matic, and it's not by his own doing. The whole basis of United with Ole supposedly at the wheel is that it's a aggressive press with dynamic pivots. Matic is assured on the ball and strong in tackles, but he's far to slow for the team… #MUwoes

We need to buy so that we don’t miss key players like McTominay so much, Matic is just not up to the job. If we don’t sort this in January it has to be considered a huge failure by the board.
