Solksjaer reveals 4 positions where he wants to sign new players
The 2-0 defeat at Arsenal was the first in the Premier League for Manchester United under their new boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, who has been a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford since the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
His brilliant performances have certainly convinced the Manchester United faithful that he is the man for the job and his permanent appointment looks to be a formality now.
As a result, Solksjaer – in a meeting with United’s higher-ups – has revealed the positions he wants to be strengthened in the summer.
WIth Antonio Valencia set to depart in the summer, Diogo Dalot is expected to fight for the first choice role with Ashley Young.
Solksjaer wants backups to both full-back positions in the summer to aid to his high energy system.
Solksjaer’s next area of concern is on the wings. Alexis Sanchez has been an incredible failure at Old Trafford since his switch from Arsenal over a year ago and Juan Mata is expected to move on at the end of the season.
This leaves the club with just Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard on the wings, with Rashford being preferred up top.
A £200 million transfer kitty is said to be awarded to Solksjaer for transfers in the summer and with the wage bills reducing thanks to players leaving, it should be sufficient to get the players he needs.
