Thierry Henry accuses Mourinho of significant mistake
Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry has pointed out the tactical mistake he believes Jose Mourinho is making in with Paul Pogba this season.
The France international returned to Manchester United from Juventus in a $116.4 million (€105 million, £89.3 million) deal last summer.
And despite scoring in the final league game of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday, Pogba has not completely received rave reviews for his first season back at Old Trafford.
But according to Henry, Mourinho has played a part in Pogba’s failure to live up to certain expectations.
“It was always going to be difficult for Paul Pogba,” the Sky Sports pundit said
“They don’t use Pogba where he should be playing – he’s not a holding midfielder.
“He likes to play higher or off the left.
“You lose a bit of him when he plays deeper. When you have a price tag like his, people are always going to talk.
“It could be good if someone comes in during the summer with a bigger price tag, then people might leave Pogba alone.
“I think his second season can be better. He’s got much more to offer.”
