Manchester United have been given a golden opportunity to deliver to the fans what would be a marquee signing in the summer.

The Red Devils broke the British transfer record through the signing of Paul Pogba in the summer of 2016 before splashing the cash on Romelu Lukaku a year later.

With Jose Mourinho seemingly in need of another big name to maintain his pursuit of Manchester City in the Premier League, Antoine Griezmann could be the next man to move to Old Trafford.

Indeed, Atletico Madrid are now willing to sell the 26-year-old to the Red Devils next summer according to a new claim in the British media.

Griezmann did well to flirt with a move to United during the off-season as he rated the chances of a transfer to Old Trafford at “six out of 10”.

Of course, all of that talk resulted in the forward somehow agreeing to sign a new deal with Diego Simeone’s side which contains a $117 million (£88 million) buyout clause.

However, United now have an opportunity to snap up Griezmann since Atletico would rather have him move to England instead joining rivals Barcelona whom they recently reported to FIFA for tapping up the player.
