United have moved in with $58m offer to sign Italian ace
Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Alessio Romagnoli by submitting an offer to sign the defender.
Jose Mourinho was not particularly impressed by the performances of players like Phil Jones and Chris Smalling last season as the team finished behind Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.
As per a report by Calciomercato, United have made an offer of $58.4million (£44.2 million) for the signing of Alessio Romagnoli.
With that said though, AC Milan have reportedly turned down the bid from the Red Devils for now.
The Serie A side are still expected to sell a few of their star players due to the desperate financial situation they have found themselves in.
The 23-year-old is recognized as a ball-playing defender, who is dynamic for a centre-back and uses his pace and athleticism to great effect.
Romagnoli is a much-coveted player and it will come as no surprise that United are not the only club who are chasing him this summer.
