Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is another player whom Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is looking to bring to the Premier League this year, as per Manchester Evening News’ report.

The Lazio midfielder has continued to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, even though recent rumours have indicated that the transfer might be put on hold.

However, newer reports are stating that the Red Devils have held discussions with Lazio over a move to sign Milinkovic-Savic with a possible deal which would be worth roughly $132million (£100million).

The Italian club may also be forced to sell the midfielder, due to their failure to clinch a place in the Champions League for next season.

The Serbia international did hint following his country’s exit from the World Cup that he would be happy to remain in Rome.

“I need a little bit of rest now. I’ll return to Rome and I would be happy if I stay at Lazio, as I’m content there and I have a contract,” he told Italian outlet Mediaset.

“I read something different in the papers every day, but I haven’t thought about it yet. First I’ll rest for a bit, then we’ll see.”

Along with Milinkovic-Savic, Mourinho is now understood to want to make an audacious bid to sign AC Milan defenders Alessio Romagnoli and Leonardo Bonucci.
