Manchester United are prepared to hold on to French star Anthony Martial beyond this summer as he continues to look for a way out of Old Trafford.

Martial has been relegated to the bench by Jose Mourinho and that resulted in him missing out on a place in France’s World Cup squad.

And even though the striker has also chased a new contract at the club, his representatives have not been able to reach an agreement with the Red Devils.

Manchester Evening News claims Tottenham and Manchester United have held talks over a deal for Martial but Jose Mourinho’s side are asking for too much money.

The Red Devils currently value Martial, an $87,000-a-week star, at £100 million and the club is adamant to not speak to any team who are not willing to meet that asking price.

Tottenham have reportedly been hoping to offer Toby Alderweireld to get the transfer through the door, but United have cooled off their interest in the defender.
