United make move to sign 29-year-old German with $63m fee quoted
Manchester United are making a move to sign Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich as Jose Mourinho maintains his search for an experienced centre-back.
The worrying form of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones for much of last season has left Mourinho in a desperate search for cover at centre-back before the new season begins.
Jerome Boateng, even during his time in the Premier League at Manchester City, has been a player frequently linked with a move to Old Trafford.
And as per Bild‘s report, the Red Devils have approached Bayern Munich about signing the 29-year-old this summer.
The Germany international has been made available for sale by the Bundesliga club who have made it clear that $63.7million (€55million) would be enough for a deal to sell Boateng.
There have also been claims that United are interested in adding Anthony Martial to a potential deal with Bayern Munich to avoid spending a huge amount on Boateng.
