United make offer for $75.6m transfer of 23-year-old and receive response
Manchester United look set to miss out on signing Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan after the Italians rejected their heavy bid for the Slovakian.
Despite bidding £57 million, the Red Devils failed to convince both the player and club to part ways according to Talk Sport.
The reports further claims that Inter see the defender as non-transferable after he played every single one of their Serie A games last season.
Skriniar joined Inter Milan from Sampdoria last season and he has enjoyed a solid debut campaign at the San Siro helping Inter reach the Champions League for the first time in six years.
Mourinho sees Skriniar as an alternative to Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld whose transfer to Old Trafford has been made complicated so far.
The Portuguese boss hopes to land a new centre back that would lead his defence to the Premier League title next season.
