Manchester United are once again reported to be on the brink of completing a deal for their third new signing of the summer.

Jose Mourinho’s side has kicked off pre-season in encouraging form so far, thrashing MLS contenders LA Galaxy 5-2 on Saturday.

The Red Devils secured the services of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku before the US tour began and rumours are suggesting there will be more business on the way.

Indeed, Ivan Perisic, who has been closely linked with move to Old Trafford for several months, is seemingly close to completing his switch.

The Sun are reporting that United have managed to reach an agreement with Inter Milan over a transfer fee for the player.

Perisic is believed to have initially agreed to sign a deal which will see him earn around $130,600-per-week in wages.

The arrival of the Croatia international would certainly bolster Mourinho’s options in midfield for the new campaign.

Even so, it remains unclear which particular position Perisic would be deployed in since Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba are unlikely to be dropped for his sake.

Perhaps the number 10 position behind Romelu Lukaku could be the 28-year-old’s best fit.
