Jose Mourinho has identified a new target to strengthen his attacking unit before the transfer window closes, according to emerging reports.

The Red Devils have begun the new Premier League season in immaculate form, thrashing West Ham 4-0 at Old Trafford last Sunday.

Even so, Mourinho has refused to play down the idea of adding more attacking options to his squad to help towards a title push.

And according to the Daily Record, United are now interested in signing AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar after the failed pursuit of Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.

Lemar had been mainly linked with a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal for much of this summer, but the transfer deal has failed to materialize.

As a result, the Red Devils have entered the race for Lemar, who is reportedly valued at a pricey $70 million (€60million) by Monaco according to the same report.

The 21-year-old was in superb form for the French champions last season, scoring 14 goals and racking up 17 assists in all competitions.
