Having dropped out of the race for the Premier League title, the Red Devils are now under pressure to make an ambitious move in the transfer market this month.

And based on a report broken by Caught Offside, the Red Devils have now opened talks over the possibility of signing David Luiz from Premier league rivals Chelsea.

The 30-year-old, who moved back to Stamford Bridge during the summer of 2016, has fallen out of favor so far this season with Conte prefer different defensive options.

Mourinho worked with Luiz for a year during his second spell at Chelsea and the United manager is now intent on a reunion with the defender.

United have been in contact with Chelsea over a switch for the former Paris Saint-Germain star who was sold by Mourinho for 50 million back in 2014.
