United plan move to sign 53-goal forward, £90m could be fee
Jose Mourinho is now being linked with a transfer move which would see him bring an Old Trafford hero back to the club.
The Manchester United manager is under pressure to re-invest in the transfer market with his side effectively out of the title race.
Even after Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Everton which saw the likes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard score, Mourinho is aware that more spending will be needed this month.
Thus, the Mirror are reporting that United are planning a move to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese superstar, who left United back in the summer of 2009, has enjoyed another incredible year which saw him score 53 goals and win the Ballon d’Or award.
However, Ronaldo is reportedly no longer keen on remaining at the Santiago Bernabeu and has asked Madrid to reduce his price tag to £90m for the sake of potential buyers.
United are very much interested in signing the 32-year-old and the fact that the forward is also looking to move his family to England helps the transfer’s odds.
