Manchester United have not given up on their chase of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and there is another attempt from the club expected this summer as they pursue the highly-rated centre-back.

Last summer, Jose Mourinho picked out the 27-year-old as one of his prime targets to upgrade his defence which had Chris Smalling and Phil Jones still failing to live up to standards.

The Red Devils have found themselves in the same position this year and as per Calciomercato, the club is preparing to make a major offer for the signing of Koulibaly.

The Senegal international is of course being tracked by other clubs like Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona as well.

Napoli, who are competing in the Europa League, have tried their best to close the door on any potential offers for the defender by demanding a $170 million fee for his services to be sold to any club in the summer.
