With only a few days to go before the January transfer window opens, Jose Mourinho is expected to resume his pursuit of a few targets whom he was unable to land during the summer.

Manchester United have now fallen 13 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in the race for the title after a frustrating 2-2 draw away to Leicester City on Saturday evening.

The poor result at the King Power stadium effectively reinforced the need for more spending in the January transfer window in order to compete with rival clubs.

As a result, the Daily Mail are reporting that Mourinho is eyeing a move for highly-rated winger Christian Pulisic to accommodate the possible departure of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Red Devils have been linked with the addition of Mesut Ozil and Gareth Bale as well, but the signing of Pulisic would be much welcomed by fans in North America.

The 19-year-old, who is reportedly valued at over £35 million per the same report, is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the game at the moment after his emergence at Dortmund over the past couple of years.

With Henrikh Mkhitaryan seemingly on his way out of Old Trafford, the arrival of Pulisic would certainly be necessary.
