Manchester Untied have stepped in to provide the truth regarding rumours that the club is looking to appoint Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho.

Just over a month into the new campaign, the Red Devils have found themselves in a very deep hole which they are yet to dig themselves out of.

Following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat away to West Ham, there have been more rumours about United possibly making a move to appoint Zinedine Zidane as a replacement for Jose Mourinho.

But, as per a report by ESPN, the club has made it very clear that those claims are indeed untrue and therefore no attempt has actually been made to bring Zidane to Old Trafford.

“Manchester United are not in the process of lining up Zinedine Zidane as their next manager despite mounting pressure on current boss Jose Mourinho, sources have told ESPN FC.” a quote from the report said.

The club’s clarification over the Zidane story comes hours after the British media reported that United had held ‘initial talks‘ with the former Real Madrid boss over appointing him as Mourinho’s replacement.
