‘Worst performance of the season’ – Man United fans react to 1-0 defeat vs Basel

Manchester United fans are fuming on social media following the disappointing defeat to Basel on Thursday night.

The Red Devils defeated Newcastle 4-1 on Saturday ahead of the trip to Switzerland in the Champions League.

United were very much aware that all that was needed was a positive result to clinch top spot in Group A.

However, an insipid display against Basel was punished late in the second half by the home side who scored a winning goal in the dying moments of the game.

And that outcome did not sit too well with several fans of the Red Devils who voiced their frustration on Twitter.

Worst performance of the season, how lukaku got 90minutes is beyond me, apart from rojo, the entire backline should be sold and replaced

Not the end of the world but very frustrating& now we can't rest players now in the last match ? ironically this was the kind of match that screamed out for 5 at the back boring football from the start & try hit on the counterattack ?
