Jose Mourinho has not always been recognized for his ability to develop youngsters but the club has different ideas.

Only a month after being accepted into the academy, Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday that bright midfielder Aliou Traore has signed his first professional contract at the club.

The teenager, who has been involved in training with United since last summer, formally joined the club as a youth player just over a month ago.

After catching the eye of the Red Devils’ coaching staff, the 17-year-old has been handed the opportunity to go on and possibly break into the first team in the future after signing a professional contract.

“Aliou is a tremendously gifted young player and we are all delighted to see him sign his first professional contract at Manchester United.” said Nicky Butt, who is the head of the club’s academy

“Aliou will naturally need time to adapt, but he has an exciting future ahead of him and we are all looking forward to seeing his performances for the Under-18s in the second half of this season.”

Following the emergence of Marcus Rashford two years ago, it is definitely refreshing to see the club keep faith in the youth.
