Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has spoken positively about the club’s biggest signing from the January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho was urged by many to sign a new attacker heading into the winter transfer window after United’s failure to keep up with Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

And the Red Devils boss definitely answered those calls by securing the signature of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal as Henrikh Mkhitaryan went the other way.

The former Barcelona star was able to make his Old Trafford debut on Saturday, scoring the second goal in the 2-0 win over Huddersfield.

Sanchez’s new teammate Lukaku has heaped praise on the forward’s attitude and played down claims from Arsenal which suggested that he was a moody player who disrupted the dressing room.

“He [Sanchez] is a Manchester United player – he was destined to play here,” said Lukaku

“He deserves to be on the big stage. It was something he wanted as well.

“He has a lot of experience after playing for Barcelona and Arsenal. I admire the quality he has on the ball, but especially his will to win. People were criticising him for being moody, but he is not like that. He is a just a winner”
