Jose Mourinho has been handed a major boost in his pursuit of Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale, based on reports coming from the British media.

The Red Devils are currently in a desperate position in the race for the Premier League title after falling a massive 15 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Recent 2-2 draws against Leicester City and Burnley have done serious damage to United’s title hopes and the next priority will be to invest in the transfer market next month.

Therefore it does not come as a shock that the Daily Express are suggesting Real Madrid have given United the price they have to pay for Gareth Bale.

Following a continued pursuit of the 28-year-old, the Red Devils have reportedly been informed by Madrid that they can sign Bale for a bargain fee of $71.3 million (£53million)

The Welshman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for several years now and his arrival would be much welcomed by a United team currently struggling to keep up with Pep Guardiola’s high-flying Manchester City side.
