Jose Mourinho is widely known to be chasing the signing of a new attacking midfielder, especially with the future of Henrikh Mkhitaryan very much in doubt.

The Red Devils manager has watched his team drop further behind league leaders Manchester City after being held to a 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Saturday evening.

Mourinho has been urged by many fans to make an effort to improve his squad with some new signings when the transfer January window opens within a couple of days.

And the United manager appears to be intent on doing just that after opening talks with Bordeaux over the signing of promising attacker Malcom.

That is according to the Daily Mail who are also claiming that United have held discussions with the French club with plans of sending the 20-year-old out loan after securing his signature.

Bordeaux are believed to be demanding a fee of £50 million for the Brazilian youngster but the Red Devils are prepared to pay only £33 million.

With young forwards like Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard already at his disposal, it remains to be seen what Jose Mourinho could do with Malcom in the future.
